Our client embarking on an ERP upgrade and are looking for a highly skilled Program Manager to lead, represent, and support our team within the combined implementation team.
This is a critical role to ensure the success of our ERP upgrade initiative.
Scope of Engagement:
Objectives:
- Represent and articulate our vision, expectations, and requirements to the system integrator (SI).
- Co-own the implementation work plan jointly with the SI, ensuring milestones are achieved.
- Serve as the first line reviewer of output from the SI to resolve most accuracy and quality issues.
- Organize our team members to participate in work sessions or collaborate with the SI.
- Work with process owners to determine the target business processes to be enabled by the ERP.
Responsibilities:
- Clarify and communicate the vision for the ERP implementation, aligned with our strategic goals and business plans.
- Support the SI in defining the timeline and milestones of the ERP implementation to align with or enable our business plans.
- Work with the SI to prioritize and maintain the requirements backlog, ensuring that it is visible, transparent, and well-understood.
- Review and ensure the requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria in the Business Requirements Document (BRD), written by the SI, are correct for our context.
- Drive planning and definition of releases/milestones, coordinating with our stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and adoption of the system.
- Act as the primary liaison between our stakeholders (especially process owners, superusers, and change management lead) and the SI team.
- Represent process owners to address the majority of queries from the SI team, bringing in process owners only for critical or complicated decisions.
- Participate in key working sessions such as sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to help address hurdles.
- Monitor the progress of implementation in conjunction with the SI and drive improvements to ensure smooth execution.
Notes and Assumptions:
We will designate resources for key roles in the combined implementation team, including:
- Process Owners who have the authority to define and the responsibility to maintain business processes consistent with our company policies, strategy, and operations for:
- Lead to order to cash
- Procure to pay
- Record to report
- Business Performance Management
- Superusers who will learn the ERP deeply, participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and be the core group to teach broader user groups.
- Change Management Lead to plan and drive change management (e.g., SOP development, training, ramp-up coaching, etc.) to broader user groups.
